High Speed Doors in Shamokin, PA
When a fast-acting door stops cycling, your traffic backs up and your heating or cooling spills out. We repair and install high speed doors for warehouses, plants and receiving areas, and if a forklift caused the damage, we document what we find so your claim starts on solid ground.
Fast Doors Need Careful Repair
A high speed door opens and closes many times an hour, often hundreds of cycles a shift. That pace is the whole point, and it is also why small faults grow quickly. A photo eye that drifts out of line, a curtain that rides out of its guide, or a drive that starts throwing errors can turn a busy doorway into a bottleneck.
We work on fabric roll-up doors, breakaway curtains that are built to reset after a hit, and rigid high speed doors used on freezers, coolers and interior openings. Our technicians are factory-trained and certified on the equipment from the manufacturers we represent, so diagnostics follow the maker's settings instead of guesswork.
Many calls start with an impact. When that happens, we take photos before we touch anything and write down what was damaged and how. You decide what to do with that record. We explain how the claim usually unfolds, but your insurer makes the coverage call.

What Our High Speed Door Work Covers
- 01
Curtain reset and replacement
Breakaway curtains can often be refed into their guides after a hit. If the fabric is torn, the windbars are bent or the bottom edge is crushed, we replace the damaged section or the full curtain.
- 02
Sensors and safety devices
We clean, realign and test photo eyes, light curtains, motion sensors and reversing edges. A door that closes on people or equipment is a safety problem first and a speed problem second.
- 03
Drives, controls and limits
We read fault codes, check the motor, brake and encoder, and reset open and close limits so the door stops where it should. Worn drive parts are replaced before they fail mid-shift.
- 04
Guides, hardware and seals
Bent guides, loose brackets and worn side seals let air through and make the curtain bind. Straightening or replacing them helps the door run cleanly and hold temperature.
- 05
New door installation
When a door is past repair, or you are adding a fast doorway, we size the unit, mount it and set up its controls. For new equipment choices, see our loading dock equipment sales page.

The curtain keeps coming out
An occasional knockout after a bump is normal for a breakaway door. If it pops out often, the guides, tension or reset mechanism likely need attention.
It hesitates or reverses for no reason
Dirty or misaligned sensors are the usual cause. Left alone, operators start propping doors open, and your energy savings disappear.
Error codes on the control panel
Repeated faults point to drive, encoder or wiring trouble. Writing the codes down before you reset the panel helps us find the cause faster.
Visible wear or tears
Fraying fabric, cracked vision panels and frosted or iced guides on cold-room doors all shorten door life and should be looked at before they spread.
Slower than it used to be
A door that drags on the way up or creeps on the way down is often losing speed to worn parts or a drive setting that has drifted.
How a Service Visit Runs
- 1
You tell us what happened
On the phone we ask about the door type, the symptoms, any fault codes and whether an impact was involved. That helps us bring the right parts the first time.
- 2
Photos and inspection
If there was damage, we photograph the door, guides and controls before repairs begin. Then we inspect the whole unit, not just the obvious problem.
- 3
A clear repair plan
We explain what failed, what is wear and what is impact damage, and whether repair or replacement makes more sense. You get a written estimate with each item listed.
- 4
Repair, test and hand back
We make the repair, run the door through full cycles, test every safety device and clean up. We work around your shipping schedule where we can to keep downtime short.
What Moves the Cost of High Speed Door Work
Every high speed door is a little different, so we price after we have seen it. A curtain reset is a very different job from a new drive or a replacement door. Here is what makes the biggest difference.
- Door type and size
- Fabric roll-up doors, rigid doors and insulated cold-room doors use different parts. Larger openings need heavier curtains and drives.
- How far the damage goes
- A curtain that only came out of its guides costs far less to fix than one with bent guides, a damaged motor or torn fabric.
- Parts and manufacturer
- Some parts are stocked, others must be ordered from the maker. Older or discontinued doors can make replacement the better value.
- Controls and interlocks
- Doors tied to dock levelers, vehicle restraints, traffic lights or building systems take more time to test and set up correctly.
- Scheduling around your operation
- Work timed for a shift change or a slow period may take more planning, but it often saves you more in lost throughput.
High Speed Door Questions
A forklift hit our door. Can it just be reset?
Often, yes, if it is a breakaway style and nothing is bent or torn. Many curtains are designed to feed back into the guides. We check the guides, curtain and sensors before resetting, because a door reset over hidden damage tends to knock out again.
Will our insurance pay for impact damage?
That depends on your policy and your insurer's review, so we cannot promise coverage. What we can do is photograph the damage, describe it in writing and separate impact damage from normal wear on the estimate. That gives your adjuster a clear picture to work from.
Which high speed doors do you service?
We work on fabric, breakaway and rigid high speed doors, including the lines from the manufacturers we represent. If you have another brand, tell us the make and model on the phone. We will let you know honestly whether we can source parts and handle the repair, or whether another route makes more sense.
Should we repair or replace an older door?
If the drive, controls and frame are sound, repair usually makes sense. When parts are hard to get, faults keep returning, or the door no longer fits how you use the opening, replacement can cost less over time. We lay out both options so you can decide.
Can you work around our shipping hours?
Yes. Let us know your busiest windows and we will plan the visit for a slower stretch where possible. Many repairs can be finished without shutting down more than the one doorway.
How do we keep the door from failing again?
Regular checks of sensors, guides, seals and drive parts catch most problems early. Our loading dock preventative maintenance visits can include your high speed doors along with the rest of your dock equipment.
